How to Tell if a Woman is a Bitch

It’s not always easy to spot a bitch, but once you know what to look for it becomes easier to identify, label and put a woman in a box.
1. She stands up for herself and others. Think Harriet Tubman or Wilma Mankiller.
2. She doesn’t care about your opinion of how she should dress or that you want her to smile. Think Serena Williams or Angelina Jolie.
3. She is comfortable with her sexuality, even if it doesn’t exist in a standard form.
4. She is a feminist who publicly speaks for equality. Think Margaret Cho or Jessica Williams.
Now you now how to spot a bitch. What did I miss? Leave a comment below about how you are a bitch or a bitch you admire.
I have a seesaw relationship with “bitch”. I don’t like the negative connotations, but at the same time it offends me less and less as I really don’t care about a word holding that much power over me. I get called a bitch when I’m walking down the street and ignore the men who sexually harass me. I get called a bitch by internet trolls when I speak for compassion, and by men who don’t understand my NO is as valid as their yes. I was often called a bitch in school when I stood up for myself or talked back to boys and girls. So, yes I am a bitch most of the time and I have no problem with that.

Video Tutorial: How To Make Zero Waste Art

I love creating art, but I don’t like all the waste that I create when I use pens and paint. Thankfully I stumbled upon a zero-waste alternative in the outdoors. Nature offers us a plethora of art supplies.
Not only is outside art non-toxic, it is free. Anybody can create art and by capturing it with a camera, can sell prints of their art. I’m definitely not the first person to realize this, but I am grateful to have the experience of stumbling across a giant peace sign and heart that had been made of rocks and bricks, and left in the canyon by my house. Those random pieces of art inspired me and sent me on a new journey with art.
Here is a short video of my process.
What are you waiting for?
Peace and hugs, Leah

The Power of Gratitude To Inspire Us Toward the Change We Want to See

Gratitude is an action that opens you up to infinite  possibilities. How often do you openly practice gratitude?

I’ve found gratitude is a great way to inspire myself toward action. When I’m honestly grateful for something than I care more and that lights a fire in my heart to be protective.

Here is what inspired me to write this post.

Thanks to pressure from environmental organizations, scientists and people in the US and Canada President Obama finally rejected the dreaded Keystone XL pipeline. http://huffpost.com/us/entry/55e74fd1e4b0b7a9633b693c

This is something I’ve been actively petitioning, attending rallies and contacting my representatives to stop. I’m filled with gratitude about the recent decision.

The environmental action agency 350.org is sending gratitude cards to him showing our appreciation of his decision. Here is what I wrote.

Thank you for choosing to protect the soil which grows our food, the water that gives us life, the trees which clean our air and the communities where we live. Sustainable energy is our future. The Keystone XL pipeline should never be built. We belong to the earth, it does not belong to us.

Write your own gratitude card via 350.org:

http://350.org/sign-the-nokxl-thank-you-card/

We already know that pollution is destroying our planet and killing us. So when will we actually join together and take the major lifestyle and cultural changes to protect out world?

How many more plastic bottles can we buy, how many more chemicals can we spray on our food,  how many more times can we support mass consumerism?

When will we stop shopping for unsustainable products, toxic beauty products and supporting unregulated factories producing all this future landfill litter?

Why aren’t more of us who know better saying NO to blindly destroying this planet that we belong to?

Who of us is ready to BE the change they want to see?

Start with gratitude.

What are you grateful for that needs your support?
