How to Tell if a Woman is a Bitch

It’s not always easy to spot a bitch, but once you know what to look for it becomes easier to identify, label and put a woman in a box.
1. She stands up for herself and others. Think Harriet Tubman or Wilma Mankiller.
2. She doesn’t care about your opinion of how she should dress or that you want her to smile. Think Serena Williams or Angelina Jolie.
3. She is comfortable with her sexuality, even if it doesn’t exist in a standard form.
4. She is a feminist who publicly speaks for equality. Think Margaret Cho or Jessica Williams.
Now you now how to spot a bitch. What did I miss? Leave a comment below about how you are a bitch or a bitch you admire.
I have a seesaw relationship with “bitch”. I don’t like the negative connotations, but at the same time it offends me less and less as I really don’t care about a word holding that much power over me. I get called a bitch when I’m walking down the street and ignore the men who sexually harass me. I get called a bitch by internet trolls when I speak for compassion, and by men who don’t understand my NO is as valid as their yes. I was often called a bitch in school when I stood up for myself or talked back to boys and girls. So, yes I am a bitch most of the time and I have no problem with that.

Paths by Lilya Chang

We all have our unique paths in this interesting journey of life, yet we share many similar experiences. I hope this poem by Lilya Chuang inspires you to connect with others as well as show compassion and celebration for the paths we each travel.
Peace and balance….

Free Spirit Howl

There can be good and bad anywhere

Plenty of good people to connect with and share

There is beauty and slippery rocks along the way

I worked on awareness so I wont slip away

My path had flowers that bloomed bright

A warrior that needed to fight

After getting so hurt, precious stones I found as I fell in the dirt

As I bleed I get back up and proceed

My path had fiery coals

I got burned by lost souls

Through burning there is learning

I walked through fire to get to true desire

Through endings to new beginnings I grew

Like a phoenix I live again and renew

My path had a lovely stranger that truly saw me

I felt it in his words so beautifully

To my surprise, he quickly intuitively saw so much in my eyes

A unique experience amazing and true

Wise stranger that knows…

So Far

I am on a never ending quest for knowledge because I am very curious, I enjoy learning new information and hope to better myself along the way.

I also hope to empower others so they can learn more and thus have more options in life. The world we live in is always beautiful. Look around and see flowers growing out of a gutter drain for some proof. It can also be cruel, frustrating and downright ugly at times. We must all make a choice to live a certain way and to find or create beauty. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to respect and treasure what makes our lives worth living.

I created a website to share what I have learned and to empower all people to be the best version of themselves. http://mpwru.webs.com is a combination of peaceful actions that we can take to improve quality of life for all people no matter where they were born, what they believe or what actions they have taken that brought them to their current situation. It is not useful to judge others harshly until you have walked in their shoes. Even then, we all relate to the world differently so it’s difficult to say you know how someone else feels.

What have you learned recently that helped you and can benefit others? Please leave a comment. 🙂

Sink or Swim

“No wonder your heart feels it’s flying, your head feels it’s spinning, each happy endings a brand new beginning, let yourself be enchanted, you just might break through to ever ever after” This song, Ever Ever After from a movie titled “Enchanted” is stuck in my head. Even though I feel the saying “happily ever after” is silly, I love this part of the song.

I don’t want a fairy tale romance, a prince or a castle. I do want to feel enchanted by life and find the magic I believed in as a child. I miss those days when I believed anything was possible and that there really were magical beings, supernatural forces and adventure in every forest, dark attic or foreign land.

I want to feel alive. I crave adventure and a mission that will take me far away from all that I know and submerse me in a new story.

Someday will never come if I continue to play it safe though. Starting today and for the rest of the year my goal is to jump out of my safe zone and see what happens. I would rather sink in a wild ocean filled with my true passion than swim in a calm stream filled with doldrums of a boring life.

Beyond Beauty

So it really is in the eye of the beholder?

After years of wanting to be beautiful I finally feel that way.  There is quite a difference between being told you are beautiful and actually believing it. It took me forever to have this chance to look in the mirror and think “Wow! I really am pretty.”   Unfortunately this came at a point in my life when I also realized that beauty only gets you so far. The rest has to do with talents, ability, emotional stability.

Yeesh! If only I had figured this out earlier. I could have been working on my talents instead of waiting for my looks to arrive. So my new goal is to grow my talents and find out what I really want from life.   This blog is part of my journey.  Time to let go my fears and see what I am capable of.

Wish me luck…….

🙂
