"Black is a beautiful power to be reckoned with". Too many light skinned people think being pro black is anti white. It's not. Too many people, especially in the U.S. see Black women as a commodity, as dangerous, or as welfare queens. Scratch that. They are as equal and capable and human as any other person. Our cultural appropriation has brainwashed us into believing that so many stereotypes are fact, instead of a fictions narrative. I hope this inspires you to rethink what you believe about skin color, about black women, about our cultural narratives. I hope you feel motivated to be the change we all need and do your best in all aspects of your life today. You deserve it. We all deserve to love ourselves unconditionally and respect others with peace in our thoughts, words, and actions. -----From upper left corner Gabrielle "Gabby" Douglas @gabbydouglas Olympic gold winner, Lucille Clifton @lucille_clifton literary genius, Ruby Dee actress, Angela Davis college professor & activist, Sybrina Fulton @sybrinafulton anti-gun violence advocate, Janelle Monet @janellemonae amazing singer, dancer, and queer icon.
