Ready to dive deeper into your self-care? Join my 3 month journal course to deepen your self-care, self-compassion, and self-love. I healed my depression, after spending seventeen years of my life curled up in the fetal position, crying, and hating myself on my bedroom floor.   • Delve into that shit that you have been avoiding. At some point uncomfortable emotions may arise that you didn’t know were lingering close to the surface. That’s the first step in cultivating a healthy self-care and self-love.
  • Dig into the root of any suffering or unwanted habits you are holding. Become more in control and aware of your emotional and mental health.
  • Learn sustainable, positive tools for your emotional health. These are tools to use today and in the future when unwanted, sticky situations arise.
  • Overall this is an opportunity to change the direction of your life from what you think you deserve into what you desire. I challenge you to rethink any beliefs that are holding you hostage.

 How does this course work? One day a week for the next 3 months, you will receive radical self-care journal prompts and actions via email. Each will take between 30-60 minutes, but you may want to spend more time as your intuition calls for it. Once you complete the course, I will follow-up with and share extra actions that you can take to continue your personal self-care practice.

You will always have access to these lessons.

 When will my course begin? Your first email will arrive within 24-48 hours depending on when I am online to respond. The continuing emails for each lesson will continue on a day of your choice. Tuesdays and Saturdays have been the best days for most people. 

 What is the cost? Send an email for the to receive the first FREE, no strings attached self-care journal activity via email. No pressure to sign up for the full course. If you want to complete the 3 month course, you can either pay $9 per month or $27 up front. As much as I wish to give all my creations away for free, I put a lot of energy, research, years, and tears into my heart-work. I have priced this course as affordably as possible. If you can’t afford the full amount, consider splitting the cost with a friend or two and share the action emails as they arrive in your inbox. 

 Do I need supplies or to make additional purchases? There are NO additional costs. You will need a way to record your weekly lessons. This can either be on a notebook or computer. 

 Why should I pay to learn about self-care? Self-care is health care. The value of this course is rooted in both research and actions proven to help you cultivate a life-long self-care practice. By committing to three months of self-care, you are setting an intention with the universe and yourself that will ripple into other aspects of your life. These include a stronger sense of self-love, healthier relationships, more focus on your true desires and a better understanding of your mental health.

 What are your qualifications? If you are familiar with my work, you know that for the past seven years I have transformed my life through recovery work and education. I trained in mental health first aid through Mental Health First Aid USA, volunteered and lead gardening group at a recovery house, spent years researching and learning about mental health, and recovered from a seventeen year depression brought on by trauma, grief, and violence.

The Dive Deeper course is for those who are ready and willing to commit to transforming their life. 

Once you sign up, the first lesson will be sent for free along with an option to pay and continue.  You can pay the $9 or $27 fee with Square or PayPal.  I’m stoked to have you join me!

 Who am I anyway? As Lewis Carroll wrote, “I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.”

 I am a survivor of depression, a multi media artist, a writer, an advocate for mental health, and a social and environmental activist. My life has been shaped in a way that is unique to most people I know. I was raised in a nomadic multi-racial family where being queer was okay, with a resource-rich mother who was the matriarch of our brood. She taught us to think independently and believe that all beings deserve equal love and respect.

 I love to learn about individual stories and enjoy meeting new people from different backgrounds and lifestyles. That is where my writing side shines can spend hours listening to strangers on the bus or lectures online. Illustrating, painting and creating art with natural materials feeds my creative side. Art is and has always been a strong force in my life. Both writing and art are the tools that spurred me to seek recovery. I still use expressive art and journaling to stay in balance with my inner world. These tools have been the park that transformed my life.

 Despite this wonderful upbringing (and my light skinned privilege) I experienced violence and trauma at a young age. This sent me on a downward spiral into seventeen years of depression. During this time I would go through periods of heavy alcohol consumption, suicidal thoughts, and no ability to set boundaries. Luckily, or perhaps it was destiny, I have been able to heal my pain and cultivate a healthy self-care plan. This transformation took years of learning and struggling. When people meet me, they often find it hard to believe that I was in such pain. They see my genuine smile, they thank me for listening to them and supporting them, and think that I must have always been this balanced. Pfffft! I wish!

 We all have some sort of pain in our lives, whether it is from something as naturally occurring as grief or more traumatic like violence. Our mainstream media, capitalism, and societal class system has cultivated a very unhealthy culture. We teach short attention spans and instant gratification. We undervalue our work unless someone approves of us. We teach ignoring and forgetting pain so we can feel good all the time.

 It is time for individuals to rise up and start healing. We need to do this for our own health and our collective health. My work is all about that healing process. I am honored to share my experience and tools to help others cultivate a life that feeds their heart and mind.
