About the Creator/Founder
Hi! I am a writer, self defense instructor, and artist in Encinitas, CA. This website is a collection of my books and art. I was luckily born into an ethnically diverse family and was raised in several different states. Diverse ideas were taught to me by my family and gave me the insight to see how a world of differences enrich our lives and at the same time see how similar we really are. My upbringing has given me a way to look at the world that is unlike most people I meet. One of my goals in life is to bring people of different backgrounds together by sharing the stories of community, compassion, and activism.sexual assault and environmental protection.
My background includes a variety of work and volunteer positions that allowed me to engage with people from diverse backgrounds. I started volunteering in college at Rainbow House in Denver, Colorado. There I held in my arms and looked into the eyes of an infant infected with HIV. When I was a teenager a family member was infected with HIV and I became well aware of the affect HIV and AIDS has on our world. But that didn’t prepare me for spending so much time with a baby who might not live long enough to go to Kindergarten. That opportunity guided me to so many people and organizations that are creating positive change in our world. I volunteered at the San Diego CASA program for foster children, worked at the Women’s Resource Center for domestic violence and sexual assault, volunteered with Photocharity to raise funds for the ONLY local youth shelter, Join clean ups to remove litter from beaches and parks, and had many more experiences that highlighted the importance of giving back and getting involved.

Hi Leah, thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving such great comments on there. I would love for you to write about self-defense for young women for Marinagraphy/Empowering Girls and Women. Maybe I can write something for yours as well. It’s exciting that you are so empowered that you have started your own business, blog, and writing business. Thanks for the support, know you have mine, and keep in touch.
